Title of Site: Starfall
Title of Game: Everyday is Earth Day
URL: http://www.starfall.com/n/holiday/earthday/play.htm?f
Summary: This site allows students to have fun and learn. They have many educational games that will attract children through different aspects. The game that I chose was Everyday is Earth Day.”This game teaches students the importance of recycling and how everyone can make a difference. This game will help with recognizing the different materials and having the child see how important it is not to liter and to recycle.
Evaluation: This site is great for grades K-3. I love the colors in the games and I love that there is audio with text because it reaches all students. This game teaches an important lesson about how to help the environment and I think that’s important to learn at a young age.
Color- The colors are bright and vivid. It is very easy to see every color that is sued and it is easy to identify it.
Repetition- To get to every page to have to click on a green arrow. Every time you put paper, cans, or plastic in the right container it will say the name of the material. Also on every page you are able to click on the words in the sentence and have them read to you.
Talking text- Yes every page had a sentence that allowed you to press on it and make it be read to you. Also some of the characters in the game talked. When you got the right material in the matching container it would say it out loud.
Visual Cues- There is a lot of visual cues which will help and make it more interesting for the children. They had a visual of paper, cans, and plastics. Also they had children saying we can make a difference which made it relatable to children playing it. Also once the trash was picked up animals started to come out and this really showed what recycling can do.
Mistakes- It would only let you put a can in the can container and that was the same for the others. If you got it wrong you could try the other containers as much as you want. Once you got it in the right one they would say the material.
Rate- It allows the student to rate the activity after each one. The rating for every game is the same and it explains what each rating means.
Highlighted cues- Once you pressed on the word that wants to be said it gets highlighted. Then it is written out again and said.
Navigation routine- It was the same on every page. There was a green arrow on the bottom left corner that allowed you to go forward and one on the bottom left to allow you to go back.
Click back and back-Yes, it allows you to click back as many times as you want.
Click and drag- This was a feature of this game. You had to click on the cans, paper, or plastic and drag them to their correct containers.

Title of Game: Paw Park Alphabet
URL: http://www.earobics.com/gamegoo/games/pawpark2/pawpark2.html
Summary: This website has educational games and it lets the student pick from different levels. The student is allowed to pick from beginner, intermediate, or advanced. Within these levels there are different games that are geared toward different topics. I chose the Paw Park Alphabet. In this game the child has to put the bears into alphabetical order and once they are the bears ride the rollercoaster. This game will help with putting things is alphabetical order and letter recognition.
Evaluation: This sight is great for students in grades K-3. I love how you can pick from beginner to advance because this reaches children on all different levels. I like the colors and animation they chose because it is relatable to children. The only problem with this game was they did not include the letter X when putting words into alphabetical order.
Color- The colors are very bright and distinct. They make the first letter red of the word to help the child identify which letter to look at for the alphabetical order. Also the t-shirts of the bear, where the words are on, are bright yellow to grab the child’s attention.
Repetition- On every page the letter for the child to look at is red and the t-shirt is yellow so the child knows where to find the words. Also every time the child puts them in the right order the bears get on the rollercoaster and ride away.
Talking text- At the beginning there is someone talking to explain the directions but there is no text to go along with it. During the game is you put the curser over the word the person will read it for you
Visual Cues- There is a lot of visual cues geared toward children. The bears where the words are located are cute and are children appropriate. Also children like amusements parks and that is where the location is because at the end they ride away on a rollercoaster.
Mistakes- If the child puts the words in the wrong order then the bear won’t go into the spot, he will just go back to his original location. Then the child can try four more times but after that they will do it for the child.
Rate- It does not let the child rate the game
Highlighted cues- There are no highlighted cues.
Navigation Route- Once you finish putting the words in order then you are allowed to go to the next page.
Click back and forth- You are not allowed to click back and forth. They go to the next page once you are finished or after you make 4 mistakes.
Click and Drag- Yes you have to click the bears and then drag them to the right order.

Title of Game: Bunny Count
Summary: This website provides educational games in a lot of different subjects. They range from math, language, and culture. The games also always you to pick the level, either easy or hard, so different age groups can play. The game that I chose was Bunny Count. In this game the child has to look at how many bunnies there are and pick between the two numbers that are being shown. This will help with number recognition and matching a number to a visual.
Evaluation: This site is good for students in all grades of elementary school because some games are more challenging than others. I just would have liked to see more color to keep the children interested and for there to have been someone talking to help the children with the words.
Color- The colors are not bright at all. It is very plain. The background is what and the bunnies are a light pink so they don’t stand out. The numbers that the child is choosing from stand out because they are blue and are big.
Repetition- The child has to do the thing each time. The bunnies are in the same spot and the numbers are in the spot so the child knows where to look.
Talking text- There was no talking in this game.
Visual Cues- The only visual cue are the bunnies that the child has to count.
Mistakes- If the child makes a mistake then it goes under the incorrect box. They get to count the bunnies twenty times and every time they get it right a number is added to the correct box and the same thing happens if they get it wrong.
Rate- It does not let the child rate the game
Highlighted cues- There are no highlighted cues.
Navigation Route- Once you select a number it goes to the next one. It does have a start over button.
Click back and forth- You are not allowed to click back and forth. They go to the next page once you are finished selecting the number.
Click and Drag- There is no dragging in this game just clicking.
